Mid-IB Summer Courses

How can a student facing Year 2 of IB finally feels ready—without the panic, the pressure, or the usual last-minute scramble?

No cram. No chaos. Just clarity.

What You Might Be Feeling — And Why This Could Help

You’re a parent trying to support your teen through one of the hardest academic programs out there.

Or maybe you are the student—quietly carrying the weight of it all, unsure how to keep it together as Year 2 approaches.

Either way, you’re here because something isn’t quite working.

You want to feel ready. Not just caught up—but calm, clear, and capable.
You want to get through this next stretch of the IB without burnout, breakdowns, or the constant guessing game of “am I doing enough?”

You’ve probably tried the usual routes:
Group tutoring. YouTube explanations. Study guides that promise mastery.
Maybe you’ve pushed harder, stayed up later, or hoped that if you just tried a bit more, things would finally click.

But the tension builds anyway.
Revision feels scattered. Focus slips. Moods swing.
And beneath it all, there’s that quiet question:
“Am I really ready for what’s coming?”

Meanwhile, others seem to be finding their stride.
Their notes are color-coded. Their calendars are full.
They seem less anxious, more sorted, somehow.

You wonder what you’re missing.
You wonder if it’s supposed to be this hard.

Here’s the truth:
The problem isn’t you.
The problem is the method.

Most revision systems aren’t designed for how real students actually learn, especially when pressure is high, attention is low, or emotions get loud.

Most summer courses focus on review.
They throw more material at already overloaded students.
More notes. More theory. More pressure disguised as preparation.

But more isn’t what’s needed here.

A Space That Finally Fits

TEMPERA Mid-IB Summer Courses provide a space that
doesn’t ask you to be perfect.
Just present.

What’s needed is something that slows the panic.
Something that cuts through the noise and says:
“Let’s start where your brain actually is.”

That’s what makes this different.

Instead of racing through subjects, we go deep into one.
Instead of overwhelming, we clarify.
Instead of assuming all students learn the same way, we meet them exactly where they are—and build from there.

This isn’t just about covering content.
It’s about creating the conditions where learning can land.

Because a prepared student isn’t just someone who’s read the material.
It’s someone who understands it. Can work with it.
Can sit down in that exam room and say:
“I know how to do this.”

That shift,
From cramming to comprehension.
From coping to calm.
From “I hope I can” to “I know I can”

is what we’re here to offer.

In four grounded, focused days, you’ll learn the hardest topics in your chosen subject in a way that actually sticks.

You’ll also learn how to study with your brain—not against it.

So you walk into Year 2 with more clarity, more calm, and a plan that fits you.

What Makes It Work – The TEMPERA Method

Because TEMPERA wasn’t built to make them better.

It was built to work with who they already are.

This workshop isn’t built on tips and tactics.
It’s built on a method—a system shaped by neuroscience, psychology, and the way learning actually happens under pressure.

We call it the TEMPERA Method.

It’s not a buzzword. It’s a framework.
One designed to meet the student where they are—emotionally, cognitively, and physically—and guide them toward the state where focus, memory, and comprehension switch on.

TEMPERA works by aligning how a student studies with how the brain regulates stress, processes information, and forms lasting recall.
So instead of white-knuckling their way through notes, they learn how to:

  • Pause and check in with themselves emotionally, before the panic sets in
  • Map what they know and don’t yet know, with calm precision
  • Structure study blocks that match their attention span—not fight it
  • Rewire their self-talk when pressure peaks
  • Use breaks, breath, and movement to return to focus
  • Let go of perfection and show up ready to think, not freeze

This isn’t just about knowing the material.
It’s about creating the internal conditions where learning can actually stick.
So when they walk into the exam room, they’re not just hoping they’ll remember it.

They know they’ve trained their brain to retrieve it.

And for students who are neurodivergent, easily overwhelmed, or simply tired of trying to “study harder” without results—TEMPERA can feel like the first time a method actually fits.

What shifts after four days inside the TEMPERA workshop?

It’s not just that your teen understands their subject better (though they will).
It’s that they feel different in their own skin.

They know where to start.
They trust themselves to keep going—even when a topic gets tough.
They feel less like they’re drowning in material, and more like they’re moving through it.

Their notes stop looking like random scribbles and start becoming tools they actually return to.

And maybe for the first time in a long time, they say something like:
“I think I’ve got this.”

Because this isn’t just a workshop.
It’s a reset.
A chance to rebuild focus, energy, and self-belief—not through pressure, but through presence.

And it stays with them.
Long after the four days are over, the tools are still there:
Helping them revise more clearly. Show up more calmly. Think under pressure.
And walk into Year 2 knowing — not hoping — that they’re ready.

And for the student reading this—if any part of this sounds like the way your brain works…
You should know: it’s not just you.
It’s not that you’re lazy, or unmotivated, or doing it wrong.
You just haven’t had the right kind of support—yet.
This is where that changes.

tempera education

And if you’re a parent reading this—know this isn’t about pushing more.

It’s about giving your teen the tools to feel safe, supported, and steady—without you having to do it all alone.

Before we go any further… This is Not for Everyone. And That’s the Point.

This isn’t a mass prep course.
We don’t do back-to-back revision marathons.
We don’t believe in stuffing more into already-full minds.

And we’re not for every student—or every family.

We’re for the ones who are looking for something deeper.
Something that doesn’t just raise marks—but raises the way a student approaches learning.

We’re for the student who doesn’t thrive under pressure, but does thrive when given structure, support, and space to breathe.
The ones who are often misunderstood as “unmotivated,” when they’re really just overwhelmed.
The ones who think differently. Who feel deeply.
Who don’t need more intensity—just more clarity.

We keep our groups small on purpose.
So each student gets the guidance they need, the attention they deserve, and the kind of connection that makes it all land.

We’re here for the families who don’t want another generic solution.
They want a thoughtful one.
One that’s neuroscience-informed. Emotionally intelligent.
And built with the student—not just the syllabus—in mind.

What people say

THIS ALL SOUNDS GREAT BUT…

What subjects can a student choose from?

Each student selects one IB subject to focus on during the 4-day workshop.
We offer a small range of core subjects, each led by experienced IB teachers who specialize in that field.
If you’re unsure which to choose, we’re happy to help you decide based on your needs and goals.

Is this suitable for students with ADHD or other learning challenges?

Yes. In fact, many of our students are neurodivergent.
The TEMPERA approach was built with emotional regulation, cognitive pacing, and attention variation in mind.
This is not a “one-size-fits-all” sprint. It’s a space where your teen can work with their brain, not against it.

Will there be homework or prep required before or after?

No homework. No pressure.
Everything happens within the four days—fully guided, structured, and supported.
If students want to continue using the tools after the course (and many do), we’ll show them how.

What’s the group size?

Small by design.
Each group is of maximum 5 students, to ensure there’s space for real connection, feedback, and individual attention.
This isn’t a lecture hall—it’s a learning lab.

Is this online or in person?

Depending on your preferences, you may opt between both:

The online workshops, so students can join from wherever they feel most focused.

Sessions are live, interactive, and paced to allow for real-time feedback and emotional grounding.
